With access to the whole market we are able to offer clear and impartial advice on the best solution to the needs of each crop.

As we are often also the grain trader for growers, we always have a vested interest in ensuring the quality of the final crop.

Kevin Robb

Black Isle / Easter Ross

Having had a keen interest in all things farming growing up Kevin has now built up 10 years experience in grain trading.

Kevin joined the Scotgrain team in 2021, and works with growers throughout the Black Isle and Easter Ross.

Nicola Anderson

Morayshire

Originally from farming background on the Isle of Mull, Nicola graduated from SAC with an honours degree in Rural Business Management in 2014. After a two-year stint with the Department of Agriculture Nicola became an Agricultural Lecturer for six years in Edinburgh, before moving to Moray in 2021.

Nicola joined Scotgrain in September 2023 and works with growers throughout Morayshire.

ROBERT PATERSON

ABERDEENSHIRE

Originally from St Andrews, Robert Graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with an International Business Degree in 2012. He then went on work in golf tourism before joining Scotgrain in February 2019, he has subsequently qualified as a Seed Inspector and is FACTS Qualified. Since 2021, Robert has assumed the role of Grain Trader for feed grains and oilseed rape.

Andrew Mudie

Angus & ABERDEENSHIRE

Andrew is originally from Angus and graduated from Aberdeen University in 1996 with a degree in Crop Science. Since leaving university he has worked in crop and plant related jobs within agriculture, most recently as a grain trader for the past nine years. Andrew joined Scotgrain in July 2021 and has recently gained his FACTS qualification.

Tom Mutter

Aberdeenshire

Originally from Lincolnshire, Tom spent his early years surrounded by arable and vegetable farming, before spending some time with a machinery group that took Tom all over the world. He then moved back to the vegetable growing industry working for a UK distributor before moving up to a farm on Moray/Aberdeenshire border.

Tom joined Scotgrain in the summer of 2020 and is based with the team at Turriff.

BASIS qualified and certified Seed Inspector so for any Agronomy based queries, Tom is your first point of contact.

Lisa Ross

Aberdeenshire

Originally from Ross-Shire, Lisa previously worked on a large Highland Estate, gaining Farm and Estate management experience.

She graduated from SRUC in 2023 with a BSc in Agriculture (with Distinction)

Lisa joined Scotgrain in October 2023 and is based with the team in Turriff.

GAVIN WALKER

ANGUS

Having been brought up in agriculture after leaving school in 1981 Gavin joined the construction industry. This was followed by many years offshore where on his time off he was actively involved on local arable farms. He returned to agriculture full time working for various farm suppliers before starting with Scotgrain in 2015. Gavin is a qualified Seed Inspector.

ALAN DAVIDSON

lOTHIAN & BORDERS

Alan is originally from Fife and hails from a farming background. In previous roles Alan has been a service manager for an agriculture machinery dealer along with twelve years working in oil & gas managing global projects. He joined Scotgrain in September 2018.

JAMES FRAZER

FIFE, PERTHSHIRE & CENTRAL SCOTLAND

James is a graduate of SRUC Edinburgh who has previous experience of working on large arable units in The East Midlands along with some time working overseas, he joined Scotgrain in July 2019.

Victoria Buxton

Lothian and Borders

Victoria is from a farming family in Norfolk, and has previous experience in the grain trade. Since Victoria joined us as a farm trader in March of 2020 covering the Lothians and the Borders, she has achieved the BASIS qualification, is a qualified Agronomist and seed crop inspector.

Scott Reid

Trainee Farm Business Manager Aberdeenshire

Starting with Bairds Malt in 2019 as a Weighbridge Operator/Lab Technician, Scott built up a knowledge of our malting business. In 2023 with an interest in agriculture, he made the move to join the Scotgrain team as a Trainee Farm Business Manager based in our Turriff office.

Gary Mills

Seed Trader

Gary Graduated from University with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University before beginning work in the oil and gas sector working as a field engineer with both Schlumberger and Gyrodata. 

He joined the malting industry in 2017 when he became Bairds Malt Grain co-ordinator. and joined the Scotgrain team at the end of 2022 in his current role as seed trader.
